This is a fragment from a manuscript containing the poetry of Abū al-Shīṣ Ahlam b. Isḥāq  the Jew. The verso side contains the title page for the first volume (juz), with the text commencing on the verso side. There is some very faint writing on the right margin of the recto side.

لأبي اسحق ابن أهلم 3

أعانه الله على تعليم الشعر والأدبز 5

 وقال (أبو) الشِيص 1
أبقى الزَمانُ به ندوب عِضاض (ورمى) سَواد قُرونهِ ببياضِ  2
نَفرت كأسُ النديم وأغمضت عنه الكواعبُ أيما إغماضِ 3
ولرُبَما حِعِلَتْ مَحاسِنُ وَجْههِ لعيونها غَرَضْ من الاَغْرَاضِ  4
حَسَر الشبابُ قِناعَه عن رأسِه فرَميْنَهُ بالصَدِ والأِعراض 5
ثِنتان لا تَصُبُوا النِسأ اليها جَلُ المشِيبِ وجله الأنقاض  6
فوُعُودهن اذا وَعدنَكَ باطِلٌ وبرُوقهن كواذِبُ الأيماض  7
لا تُنكُرى صَدّى ولا اعِراضى ليس المُقِلّ عنِ الزمانِ (برا)ضِ 8

Folio:
1 The first volume
2 of the book of poetry
3 of Abi Ishaq ibn Ahlam 
4 ibn Ishaq the Jew.
5 May God's support him in the learning 
6 (of) poetry and adab.
1 Abū al-Shīṣ has said:
2 Time preserves with itself scars of biting, and darkness throws its horn through whiteness
3 The cup of the close friend fled, and how much has full breasts closed their eyes towards it!
4 Maybe the beauties of his face have been made an aim for her eyes.
5 The youth unveiled his mask from his head, and she threw him back with rejection and avoidance.
6 Twop people whom women do not aspire to, the majority of     gray hair and his majority is ruins. (?)
7 Their(f.pl.) promises, if they(f.pl.) promise you(m.sg.), are false, and their (f.pl.) flashes are flickering liars.
8 Do not deny (f.sg.) my rejection nor my avoidance, the one who is destitute is not satisfied with time.
