Now: I, Samsit son of Biyan-bid,

inhabitant of Mahon, we (sic!) whose house they call Biyanbidan,

servant(s) of the khar of Rob, guarantee to you, Tak son of Bet, inhabitant of Madr,

you (pl.!) whose house they call Burzmiran, servants of the khar of Rob,

that we have collectively agreed that from tomorrow (and) for (all) future

time we shall not cause damage to life, neither by killing nor by . . .,

not to the estate, not to the fortress (and) walls, not to (his) wife (and)

children, not to (his) brother, not to (his) son, not to (his) paternal relatives, not to the

irrigated land, not to the vineyards, not to slave-girls (and) slaves, not to (items) of gold (and)

of silver, not to animals; from a thousand dinars (worth) down to one penny’s (worth), we shall not cause damage (and)

loss in such a way that it† might be shown (to be) offensive, destructive (and)

lawless towards the Wiralan (family); in whatsoever way I, Samsit,

with my brothers, sons (and) descendants, may lawlessly (and) destructively cause injury,

then may I, Samsit, (and) my brothers, sons (and) descendants, die ourselves, and

we shall pay one thousand dinars of gold to the treasury of the khars of Rob and we shall pay one thousand

dinars of gold to you, Tak, (and) to your brothers, sons (and) descendants.

And so, after the fine has been paid, may (this) guarantee-contract, (this) sealed document,

be (considered) good and valid as (it) is written herein, from now to eternity.

may produce it, then may it be (considered) valid (and) authoritative just as (it) is written for you,

Tak, (and) for the members of your household; and may we chase off all enemies
