An order of payment instructing ʿAlī Kulāhdūz to pay five days’ worth of wages (totalling 100 mann of barley) to five of his cavalry men. The order was issued by Abū Bakr b. al-Ḥasan, probably a diwan official.

3 Shaykh ʿAlī Kulāhdūz (“hat-maker"), may his glory endure, should deliver the grain that
4 he has with him, which is a credit line of the diwan’s account and amounts to twenty and a half donkey-loads, to
5 five cavalrymen who are amongst his troops. This covers their wages for five days:
6 100 mann autumn (?) barley                                             [half of it:] 50 mann autumn (?) barley
7 This document shall serve as proof. [It was written] on the 10 of the month of Jumādī I in the year 603.
